Components for lightning protection systems are
tested for functionality according IEC 62561-1 –
Requirements for connection components. This corres-
ponds test class H. After a
conditioning phase lasting days, the components
are impacted with three lightning strikes. The lightning
protection components for air-termination systems are
tested with Iimp 100 (10/350).
Components for conductors along which the lightning
current can spread (at least two arrestors) and con-
nections the earthing system are tested with Iimp
50 (10/350). This corresponds test class N
