BACKGROUND
By Decision D135/032, noted the opinion CLC/TC 81X the relation between the EN
62305 series (Protection against lightning) and 17-102 (Protection structures and
open areas against lightning using early streamer emission air terminals) and asked the
technical body provide detailed evidence possible conflict between both documents.BT136/DG8043/DC
March 2010

CLC/TC 81X Secretariat provided the enclosed documents justifying the CLC/TC 81X position
that there are indeed conflicts between both documents.
PROPOSED DECISION(S)
BT noted referring previous decisions (notably D135/032 and D134/038) concerning the
relation between the 62305 series (Protection against lightning) and 17-102
(Protection structures and open areas against lightning using early streamer emission air
terminals), the CLC/TC 81X position that there are conflicts between both documents, as
explained document BT136/DG8043/DC, but agreed defer any further decision this
subject until CLC/TC 81X report the possibility convert C17-102 into CENELEC
deliverable made available BT.
By Decision D134/038, had also invited the French National Committee introduce its
standards CLC/TC 81X level with the intention possibly convert this national standard into
a CENELEC deliverable
