design and manufacture submarines, torpedoes, and other naval
weapons.
Edison had always seen military applications for his
inventions. Electricity offered many opportunities this
field: could used weapon— sprays water linked
with high voltage alternating currents, for example; means
of power; and for communications. This company credited with the design the first
