of WESTRACE has been proven extreme conditions

heavy haul lines. Ultimately significant technological contribu

In its original design form the backplane utilised all
solder term ination connectors and components. One
side the board could flow soldered however the
components the other side were term inated using a
hand solder process which was considered labour
intensive and the required termination soldering qual
ity levels were extremely demanding. RoHS compliance has also been achieved by
the introduction lead free components; wave solder
ing and surface mount processes.
