At some point after 1916, the stairs leading down from the second floor were
enlarged and turned degrees landing above the first four steps. the big fireplace were two little

The other major change this floor was the creation three offices the
northwest side the stock room. The
storeroom wall was moved back few feet where extended out encompass a
telephone booth and the booth was removed make broad corridor that led to
the first floor machine shop.

Building Library, Period 1887-1900
When Edison moved into the library late 1887 early 1888, was rather
sparely furnished place.384
According account published the Evening Sun: "There was desk there
and three four tables, half dozen chairs, clock face without hands or
works, and one two old rugs the floor.383 also intended purchase large Ansonia pendulum clock. A
1925 photograph shows the vestibule outside the library door was removed open
up this entrance area.
