Major changes were made the first floor entrance area during this period. The
storeroom wall was moved back few feet where extended out encompass a
telephone booth and the booth was removed make broad corridor that led to
the first floor machine shop.
At some point after 1916, the stairs leading down from the second floor were
enlarged and turned degrees landing above the first four steps.
Building Library, Period 1887-1900
When Edison moved into the library late 1887 early 1888, was rather
sparely furnished place.383 also intended purchase large Ansonia pendulum clock.379 1927 two portable vestibules were set this
area: one the library entrance and one the machine shop entrance.
