If shielding used protect against electrical fields, it
is advisable ground one side only. In
the same way, shields two-sided signal conductors should
be grounded both sides.
The illustration shows the resulting pattern.
Stripping tool for shielded cables
With the Weidmueller stripping tool, very easy
to disconnect the insulation conductor and then apply
the shield. However cable shields
and steel conduits should grounded both sides,
despite the risk, todays EMC regulations require this. Finally,
the insulation cut the other end over the circumference. Then the tool pulled lengthwise
over the conductor and the insulation cut off.
