If shielding used protect against electrical fields, it
is advisable ground one side only.
The illustration shows the resulting pattern. Shields analogue
signal conductors should, for example, connected one
end. Finally,
the insulation cut the other end over the circumference. However cable shields
and steel conduits should grounded both sides,
despite the risk, todays EMC regulations require this. The insulation the conductor first separated
