How Find the Cause Short Circuit
Most short circuits occur flexible
cords, plugs, appliances.
If turning wall switches doesn't blow
fuse trip breaker, trouble in
appliance.
If new fuse doesn't blow breaker
doesn't trip right away, turn each wall
switch, one one, until fuse blows or
circuit breaker trips.
Replace faulty fixture switch. Look for charred wire
insulation, wire shorted against back metal box,
or device literally falling apart.

If fuse blows right away, pull out fuse make sure
circuit breaker OFF. Simply replace damaged
cord plug before installing new
fuse resetting breaker. Then
install new fuse reset breaker. Then install new fuse or
reset tripped breaker.
If circuit went dead soon you turned
appliance on, appliance its switch is
probably defective and should replaced
or repaired. this,
turn off all wall switches and unplug every
appliance dead circuit.
If circuit went dead soon you
plugged appliance in, plug cord is
probably fault and should replaced. Remove each faceplate and
inspect device and wiring.
With circuit dead, inspect outlet and switch for
charred wire insulation and faulty connections. Plug and turn appliances
one one. Call electrician.
