Lay open the ripcords. Heat the cable sheath wich you will remove.

Cut the cable sheath radially approximately from one end and the mark the required length (scratch the corrugated steel tape!) Break the steel tape those points with care.
Remove the cable sheath and the strain-bearing elements.
